February Topic of the Month: Do You Have Financial Goals for 2023?

Kevin Orsinger |

It’s never too late to start setting some goals for your future.

Know your Goals:  Have a good understanding of what you want your financial goals to be.  Put in writing what you want to achieve and how you plan to achieve it.

Prioritize Your Debts:  Try to pay your highest interest rate debt off first.  Keep payments up to date, late payments can mean extra fees.  Don’t make impulse purchases, take 24-48 hours and think about that purchase, maybe you really don’t need it.

Open a Retirement Account:  If you don’t have an IRA, get one established and start making contributions to it.  Your financial advisor should be able to tell you whether a Traditional or Roth IRA is better for you.  Both offer their own tax advantages.

Make Extra Income:  Turn your hobbies into profits.  Take your talents to local fairs or craft shows.  This is a great way to meet new people as well.

Save Your Change:  When you get change while out shopping, take that change home and put in a piggy bank or large jar.  You will be surprised at how quickly this loose change adds up.  Use this extra cash to pay down some extra debt or put it into a savings account.

These are just a few quick and easy suggestions to help you make some financial goals.  Maybe you have some wonderful ideas of your own.  If you need assistance deciding on that IRA reach out to Orsinger Investment Group, Inc. at 724-588-5220 and make an appointment.
